This song was so relaxing and had some good melodies. I just wish the ending was more conclusive.

Blacklawn responds:

Wow, thanks! I'm really glad I was able to get your admiration despite that issue we had the other time with one of my songs.

And I'm working on a proper ending right now (I wasn't sure how to end it before)

The melody is very happy and would be good for a very catchy song :D

I really like the reverb on the piano. I just wished it was softer at some parts of the song and had more variation on the velocity levels. Just when I thought the song was becoming repetitive, I heard more variation in the second half of the song. I'm really glad you did that. I really liked the ending. I love when a song ends on a nice and happy piano note and the song does not stop until the reverb and delay effects are done.

Blacklawn responds:

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I also wasn't entirely sure about the reverb when I put it.

The mixing is really bad. Please EQ out the lower frequencies from your melody synths. You can give those low frequencies to the bass instruments and kick. I also think you need to adjust the volume on some instruments. You did a good job with the background instruments which made the song sound more full.

I think you should shorten the notes in the melodies, they sounded too long. I don't know if you've listened to one of my most recent songs but one thing I started doing a really like is replacing snare rolls with a synth roll. You simply place the notes in the same way you would for a snare roll, but you use a good sounding synth instead. Then you use an automation clip to change the pitch of the synth as the song plays. You can do this before the chorus. This is just a suggestion for the final version of this song.

I really liked the song and all the transitions. The pitch effect on the bass sounds good. The piano melody felt very repetitive even though it gave the song a happy feeling. I think you should try using other bass patterns instead of always using kick then bass. The melody is very catchy. I tried not to say anything that I said in my last review.

The chorus of the song sounded too empty. I know you don't want to hear this again, but I really think a pad could have helped a lot. Just like always, the bass and kick sound amazing together! I felt like the song was too repetitive. Or it possibly just felt that way because there was only one dominant synth. The ending was not very interesting. Exactly what you did at 1:22 with the bass and drum beat would have worked for the ending very well.

Please make the vocals louder and improve the eq. One of the pads (Im assuming its from the pad) sound terrible.

It sounds mostly finished to me. The only thing I did not like was the chords. I've heard those chords so many times recently. I think you should put a little more time into the ending. Also, the song ends before the sound is finished fading out.

Xsalvaz responds:

Thanks. Many of the chords are rather common. I will definitely put more time into the ending.

How did you make the synths? I really like all of them. The reverb on the snares is amazing.

Sequenced responds:

most of the chippy sounding synths were done in 3x 0sc. I exported a couple of them and added them to a sampler and reversed it for a sick eerie effect. the rest were made in fl studio's hamor and harmless plugins.
